AnyShare

AnyShare is a file sharing service built into X-plore, that allows to share files among X-plore over network.

The sharing happens in real time from one Android device directly to another device, and the files are not stored on any intermediate server.

The sharing is offered for few minutes, during which the other device must connect and receive the files.

Sender and receiver can be on any network connected to the Internet.

You can easily send your files to a friend that is in a different location, or on same local network. All you both need is to use X-plore, Internet connection, and use a simple sharing code.

Send files

Mark one or more files or long-click on a file, then click AnyShare send button.

X-plore will generate a sharing code.

There is also time running (a few minutes) during which it’s possible to download the shared files.

When file sending begins, the dialog shows name of receiver’s device, and progress of sending.

When sending completes, the dialog shows this, and dismisses itself after few seconds.

Receiving files

To receive files over AnyShare, open destination folder or long-click on a folder, then choose AnyShare receive.

This will show transfer progress in a dialog shown next to the destination folder. All shared files will be downloaded.
Besides other information, the dialog shows also name of sender’s device.

When receiving completes, the dialog shows this, and dismisses itself after few seconds.

You can observe the progress of sending or receiving also in status bar notification.

Security

With used 5-character code, there is over 1.5 billion of possible combinations, so guessing someone else’s code being currently shared randomly is close to zero.

Besides that, the sharing system is protected against brute-force attacks, where some malicious app would attempt to guess shares in fast sequence – such connection attempts are blocked.

The sharing also utilizes secure connection, so that content of shared data travel over network in encrypted format.
