Some users seem to have problem to understand how to copy/move files (how to select destination).
So here is some basic explanation.

In Dual-pane file manager, the highlighted pane is source for all operations, including copy/move. The other inactive pane is destination for some operations such as copy/move.

Use Switch pane function to select other pane, and choose desired destination folder. (there're more ways how to switch panes: fling screen left/right, or use button, or use keyboard shortcut)
Then switch back to other pane from where you wish to copy, select folder or mark multiple files, and choose Copy (or Move) function.

Files will be copied/moved from source pane to destination pane. In image above, source is on left, destination is on right. If you wish, this may be other way, source on right and destination on left.

On smaller screens or in portrait mode, destination pane may not be visible:

But it is still there, you see blue arrow and destination folder name at top, and all works as written above.

In another program, the write operation is successful?
In fact, to this can answer the developer.

Used for the video: Android 2.2 sdk and emulator,
video application: Instant Demo

And what is not working for you? Copy button is disabled, or copying fails with error?

Interesting, purple dot means that folder is accessed in Root mode.
Try to change Root access in Configuration to Disabled or Normal, we'll see if it helps.

Same problem with Toshiba Thrive. When attempting to copy from /sdcard to /sdcard2, internal memery to external. Stock File Manager works as well as copies from other sources such as LAN to SD.

Using Motorola Xoom, Android 4.1
On the left pane, I have a file listing from my desktop computer on the LAN.
On the right pane, I have a folder on the SD card on my Xoom.
I select a file on the left to try to copy it from my computer to the Xoom.
When I select a file on the left, the Copy (and Move) button is dimmed.

Any ideas about this problem?

Check if your SD card is writable (for example in another file manager).

Yes, I can copy a file to the SD card when the Xoom is connected to my computer via USB cable.

Yes. The Delete button is available, and it seems to work.

But the Copy and Move buttons are not active.

Delete button is dependent on active pane, while Copy/Move buttons are dependent on the other (target) pane. Select accessible target folder.

I can't copy/move a list of selected files from the search results list to the other pane. It only works on one file at a time, the last file selected.

Also, the board won't allow me to search on the word "checked", claiming it is too common. However, since your application includes a feature to check certain files you should add "check/checked/checking" to the White list for the search function of the forums. Thanks.
