Is there a widget for PM to display 2 (better more) mailbox states/messages on the active home screen of the N97 (5th ed)? |

Maybe later we'll consider this. Unfortunately these widgets are feature of only one device, so maybe we'll put resources to better home screen notifications which would work on more phones. |

+1 on that request. I could well be completely wrong (haven't looked at the SDK yet) but I think the widget development is reasonably straight forward and as the N97 looks like being a reasonably high visibility device it may be worth the effort. Also I am not sure if it is for just one device, I would guess that home screen widgets will be pushed in future high end devices. |

yes need a home screen widget for n97.. basically a widget file .wgz is just a zip of web based programming html and jsava script.. with calls to an api bridge to get the home scrren display.. all future phone os's i belive from symbian/nokia will have this. so it is worth the effort or you are going to loose clientel to other solutions thanks |

i agree, you really need to implement this! a whole gang of people at www.n97fanatics.com are awaiting a perfect email solution and adding the homescreen widget will do it. you can see in these comments at the link below people are hoping for it. http://www.n97fanatics.com/email-on-the ... t-11982559 |

Symbian 5th edition doesn't mean that the phone will support widgets. So far it is announced as special feature of one phone Nokia N97. |

I've tried Profimail on my N97 and I really like it, but I'm afraid I won't be buying it until it gets a widget. To be able to see what email you've got by simply glancing at the home screen is so much better than having to launch an application. So for now I'd rather stick with the built-in Nokia client, sorry. |

Widget should be easily done. There are plenty of N97 users out there. I would pay for sure for this software if this feature is implemented. |

This has potential as the killer app. The widget would fill in a significant missing void. In fact, profimail plus the equivalent of freeSMS (threaded) and its missing (afaik) MMS counterpart would make for a truly comprehensive and complete replacement. With a succinct notification widget, it would become THE premier communications tool to replace what currently seems to require multiple apps and multiple steps/notifications. |

i would as well pay for it to incent lcg to provide an upgrade for paid users to offset development costs. |

It seems there is some need from your Symbian customers and I do believe N97 will be a success. So is LCG considering this feature or is it completely out of the loop? |

They're considering it but would implement something which would be for all S60 3rd Edition users I guess. |

Thumbs up, this is great news! I'd like to see sender and subject in the same line, scrolling if necessary. Similar to the Facebook widget. It should show the latest three messages and you should be able to select which accounts shall be displayed. In case more than one account is there (and selected) it should show the latest three mails, e.g. if I receive 3 mails in my work account they should be visible. If I get after that one mail to my private account it will show 1 private, two working headlines. Please make the current standby screen notification configurable, i.e. if the widget is active I don't want to see another mail notification in the top right corner. Pls keep up the good work! |

... for sure, I'm gonna help you in coding if you want (and I can) for making it compatible with Samsung Omnia HD (I8910HD) .WGT Widgets? I've made a few widgets for S60v5 and I've programmed two or three for the Omnia HD (WGT Widgets). WGT Widgets are nearly the same than WGZ except the config.xml in the WGT Widget and the info.plist in the WGZ Widget. If you want - testers, help etc. just say what I can do Best regards Mike (www.symbian60.mobi) |

This sounds great! I would prefer a widget which shows me the number of mails I received for each account. E.g.: I have 3 mail accounts, it would be great if the widget would show me how much mails I have in each account. Here is a small exampel (yes I made it in one minute with paint) - the maximum of account should be 3 or 4! Picture: http://tinyurl.com/mhugny |

Great work, and will make the N97 much more desirable. Im replying here from mine lol. The widget looks great, and agree with above comment, maybe a scrolling sender, and email titles would be perfect. |

This is just wonderful! Hopefully the widget will be highly configurable, in the spirit of Profimail itself. I'd be great if there will be a possibility to show only unread messages, not all (3) recent. In other words, if I don't have any unread email, don't show old messages on the home screen forever. Just counters and a nice LCG logo. Thanks. |

Love the idea of a homescreen widget for the n97. In my opinion it should display one of two things... 1. latest 3 emails received (subject plus sender) (maybe user configured so we can choose which email account it shows info from?) or 2. email accounts and how many new messages in each, and click on the email account will bring you straight to that accounts inbox |

Awesome, Awesome, many thanks How about the last 3 emails, irrespective of which account in Profimail. Or the option to display the account or accounts that are represented in the Widget. It would be good if the Widget scrolled the subject line. |

Technically we can have two main designs: 1) Fully graphical (own rendered) widget area, and draw any amount of text, lines, graphics, etc. Drawback is that we can't detect touch position, and clicking widget just opens ProfiMail. 2) Predefined template with image on left, and 3 lines of text. In this case we can detect which part of widget was clicked, and act on this. For example clicking image would open ProfiMail, clicking on text lines would scroll emails, or switch view. |

Having thought about it a bit more, how about: 1) User can Configure Maximum Number of last emails to display i.e if user enters 10 are there are only 5 in the Inbox it rotates through the 5 until more emails are received. 2) Widget shows 1 email at a time with 3 lines of text: Sender, Subject and first line of Email. 3) Widget scrolls so that the whole subject line is visible for example. 4) User can configure how long each email is displayed before it changes to the next email. 5) User can select Account or Accounts that the Widget takes its feed from/displays emails from. 6) Total number of unread Emails displayed. 7) If the above is going to take too long to develop, just displaying the last 3 Emails that scroll and at a sensible refresh rate would be fine/a vast benefit for me. |
