And I have new idea for opening/navigating unread messages (not only) =)
1. A tweak to open the first/last unread message clicking on the account
/* then back button = back to the messages list view */
2. Navigating only unread messages using some key combo (like #+left/right) // coz they can be in the middle of the read list...
3. Key combo to go to account selection screen (like *+1 or *+0 (see next why))
4. Key combo to switch accounts in message list (like *+left/right or smth like *+1 = fist account, *+2 = second, etc...) // very useful with many accounts with unread messages
5. OK button in address book click = write new email (I think it's logical)
6. "Back to folder view" menu item in messages list view, when tweak "Go to inbox" is enabled

And I think key combos are really great, especially when they would be user configurable... New feature =)

Ok, but how or when would be folders displayed?
Mail box Root folder could be listed above the inbox.

Right now we click ProfiMail. It lists the mail boxes. We click the mail box, then inbox.

In the method I suggested above by ticking an option to display inbox when opening ProfiMail. That inbox root folder would be listed above. Other mail boxes would also be listed, so it would be like a tree.

XX yahoo
-inbox
-sent
-drafts
-trash

XX gmail
-inbox
-sent
-drafts
-trash

Yes... There are too many click to reach the inbox. Cant we hide the other folder and directly reach inbox of other mail form one mail. This can also help to switch inboxes of different mails by just swaping the fingure across in touch phone.

I'd like a tweak that flips the 'from/subject' lines in the mailbox list, or at least allows the relative sie of the fonts used to be switched/finetuned. I am more interested in the subject line to stand out rather than the From

not sure that this would be a tweak or a full RFE:

I'd like a quick toggle to show only new/unread messages (sometimes they hide way below, due to date issues on the sender side)

Tweak Request -

A Tweak to make the options Notification sound and Notification Volume (Atleast Notification sound if not both) global or Account specific.

I believe this would be the best possible alternative to better home screen notification in S60 3rd Edition phones.

There's something really annoying in the way PM handles the "Exit" and "Send to background" functionalities on Symbian S60 smarphones. Let me explain:

In PM the only way to exit the app is to go through Menu>Exit from the main screen ONLY. Since this is by design it's ok for me.
But this is where I think you guys screwed up: from that same main screen, the right softkey is "Hide" AND the (red) end key too (it 'hides' the app to the background too).
Knowing that there is a single spot from where you can exit the app and that S60 phones already have the home/menu key to send an app to the background, why on earth did put "Hide" on both the right softkey and the end key ?

Tweak Request:

I would like to be able to exit the app more easily, so you should let users choose whether they want end key AND/OR right softkey to exit PM.

The exit IS easy, at least on my X1 - I have a dpad.
I wouldn't like to have exit button too transparent - you can hit it accidentally...
I'd like to have it on menu..

On my phone I don't have to use the Menu>Exit to exit ProfiMail. I have always the Exit option available in the right soft key.

You do not use IMAP IDLE support?

That's exactly what I was going to ask...
When you use IMAP IDLE the right softkey changes from "Exit" to "Hide"...making my request relevant I think, but I can be wrong if I'm the only one here wanting such a Tweak.

I'm not using IMAP IDLE (on my E71) but my right softkey is "Hide" anyway. But that doesn't bother me.

Probably when using IMAP IDLE the Exit key changes to Hide. A guess that a tweak that allow us to change that would be easy to do.

Hello,
Nokia E55 has flashing LED notification in 3.15b now, thanks for that.
At the moment volume keys on the right side flash, which is nice for
differentiation from missed calls/SMS - but may be more difficult to
see. So, if at all possible, a way to select the D-pad instead would be
nice.

Second: higher frequency flashing if IMAP idle mode is active but
(at least one) connection not established.

Please add a tweak to NOT automatically hide a message if it is
"deleted from device" in the message menu.

It would be useful for some of us to use IDLE on another folder than Inbox.

Tweak Request:

Change the folder connected in IMAP IDLE mode.

Or maybe a tweak to choose more than one folder for IMAP IDLE.

Not sure if I'm inthe correct place for this request but would it be possible to select the target folder in a move by typing the start of the folder name?

I have approx 80 sub folders and scrolling them on my N97 is a right royal pain in the posteria ;-)

I'm not sure support for multiple connected IMAP ILDE folders, since LCG already explain the problems it would bring.
Thanks for supporting my proposition though, I sometime need to watch a work related folder, and at that times Inbox IDLE is of no use for me. Glad to see I'm not alone in this case.

+1 for the tweak to choose the folder to be in idle since multiple folders in idle mode seems to be difficult.

Any chance that PM could remember the viewed state of an email when moving it between folders?

That is I download headers only and read selected emails that pulls the body in too. But when I then move the email from my inbox to a sub folder the sub folder view of that email is of just the header again. Since it has already downloaded the body text cannot PM remember this?

Hyde: it's possible on some IMAP servers, and it works in ProfiMail. But on other IMAP servers, there's no way to know message ID of new moved message, so it must be downloaded again.

So I'm guessing that googlemail imap is such a configuration that does not allow PM to capture this status on a move? :(
