ProfiMail has only plain-text message composer, so > marks are needed to mark quoted text correctly.

When quoted message send from ProfiMail is received in another mail client, it may be (and usually is) displayed using nice vertical lines, not with '>'. But that's just display presentation, internally such messages use '>' to mark quoted text.

alirezanasibi is asking for feature that would break the system and doesn't make much sense.

Ok, I take back my request! :?

To fix the notification sounds, profimail always freezes when i try & select a new notification sound and it would be great if there was a way to preview the sounds from within the program.

While Profimail had issues downloading mails in background using WiFi I switched to K9 and found that it has one important feature I like very much.... You can select different update times for different accounts.... Can You do that in Profimail ???

1) I think that it's necessary to have the possibility to search some string in all the messages bases and see the list of the messages found.

2) Also it will be VERY useful to insert the images taken by the phone camera directly in the created message (with no file work and extern programs call).

Thank you.

Program looks nice but needs some attention. July 2011 last update is scary.

If you think that is scary, take a look around the world.....

Long ago Jay posted the suggestion to create address books independent from the standard "build in" address book. Reason : If one has more than one account (more than one email address) all accounts use the same address book which can be very confusing, like in Jay' case who owns a bussines address and a private address. It would be perfect if Profimail had the opportunity to create separate address books for every account.

Hi LCG,

There seems a lot of people that want Mail for exchange/http/webmail access support. What are the chances?

Profimail would be the creme de la creme then! Plus i could use it at work!

At first I'd really see a changed rules mechanism and extended rules:

About the rules mechanism:
  • local, account related rules
  • evt. account identities related rules
  • global rules
  • a flag for a rule, if it ends the rules matching test for the following (local/global) rules
  • a command to run the rules over the currently stored emails
  • rules to apply on moving emails, like to set manipulate header tokens, e.g. to change X-GMX-AntiSpam to "6 ((SPAM))" on moving into my "SPAMVERDACHT" folder or to "0 (no SPAM identified)" on moving out of the "SPAMVERDACHT" folder

About the extended rules:
  • conditions:
    • negotiations of conditions, like e.g. header contains NOT
    • ability to change the order of conditions
    • support for wild cards (*?) or regex patterns within textual conditions
  • actions:
    • more actions than one
    • changable order of actions
    • a copy-to-folder action (in e.g. Thunderbird it is possible to copy an email, even using IMAP)
    • a folder selection instead of pure typing for folder related actions
    • set-normal-priority action
    • (un)set-flag actions

Second, I'll like to have several "smaller" changes:
  1. support to customize the spam detection by setting the related header token, e.g. to X-GMX-AntiSpam, and the value range to detect spam emails
  2. commands to mark an email to be SPAM or not
  3. support to specify "important" folders to be "monitored" for new emails or changes, so there is no need anymore to scan/update the whole account
  4. click on notification (Nokia N8-00, Symbian) should bring directly to the account, if only one account is defined
  5. click on the folder header (e.g. "GMX - INBOX") should bring the folder selection
  6. the last selected/viewed folder should be remembered for the next folder selection
  7. a configurable context menu, because I don't use most of the context menu commands and would like to have others in
  8. the last used folder for copying/moving should be remembered
  9. support for copying (like in e.g. Thunderbird) a message no matter if on a POP3 or IMAP account
  10. support for swyping left/right in the folders view to go to the previous/next folder or from the first folder back to the accounts view and remove the "back" button to get space for two new command buttons
  11. click on connection status icon in the folder header should switch the connection status
  12. support to mark a email unread, if it is open

That's all!

ProfiMail was my standard email client on symbian, so as I switched to android a year ago, I am glad to have the same great piece of software.
I would like to have the following features:

Ability to switch between HTML and Plain Text View for received emails.

In detailed view of email -> email header, the code should be displayed correctly (actually it doesn't show code in backets like <content>)

Ability to let me see the complete source code (header and body) of received emails.

Furthermore I would apreciate Exchange supoort.

Thanks for your good work,
best regards,
Dirk.

More rule conditions.

Maybe a better Googlemail-support.
