I would like to see the opportunity to sort the Mail-Accounts at the start screen...
New E-Mail Accounts were allows created at the end of the list.

Or is this feature still there and I don't find it?

my version: 3.03

Profimail arranges the Accounts in order.
For Example,if you've accounts with account names as 'Gmail, yahoo and Aol' then it'll arrange them as Aol,Gmail and Yahoo.

Number is given preference over alphabets,so what you can do is simply rename the accounts you've as follows according to your wish(your desired order of accounts with most used/significant at the top followed by the rest)

1-Account 1
2-Account 2
3-Account 3 and so on and so forth.

By the way,it'll be good if the developers can put an extra option 'move' under account panel in menu.

The possibility to write numbers at the beginning of the accounts to sort the list I use until now.

Therefore it would be nice if there is a sort-option or a move-option in the new version.

Huge improvements in 3.14 over the 2.xx versions I was using in the past. It was a great client back then, now its even better. Thanks!

On the wish list:

Selectable "default" IDLE connection

My mail gets handled by procmail and depending on where I am and what I am doing is what mailbox is "most important" to me. In any event, "inbox" is almost never the one I want, as that is the "fall-through" case, and comprised substantially of SPAM.

Multiple IDLE connections

See above -- let me watch my personal box, my server-down mail, and my project-specific box. I'm used to systems that allow multiple connections and don't know if supported on this platform within a single application.

It looks like I can "hack" this by creating multiple accounts and only subscribing to single mailboxes in each, but that is pretty ugly.

Multiple identities

Mail for several domains and accounts come to the same set of mailboxes on the same account on the same server. I'd rather not duplicate the local message collection just so I can change the outbound email address.

Environment -- Nokia E70 (waiting for N97 on US T-Mobile AWS 3G), dovecot, postfix, SSL w/ self-signed certificates on servers.

Open Mailbox to Last-Selected Message

Perhaps an option to open mailboxes to:
  • Last selected message
  • First unread message
  • First message (current behavior, it seems)
  • Last message

Hi,

I would like to have a Profimail that checks the correct setting in profiles on S60V3 (email tone instead of ringingtone)

I would love to have the way Profimail handles network connections changed: I'd prefer to have a list where I can add my connections and give them a priority. So I could use more than just two predefined connections automaticly.

Another improvement for me would be if I could use connections in my rules. For example, I want to download the messages from my IMAP account if I'm on WiFi but on 3G I just want to retrieve the headers.

Thanks for developing on and on... :)

Some phones have this feature built-in. Those that haven't can use third-party applications to achieve that.

Here's a problem I haven't been able to find mentioned elsewhere in this forum, occurring on my Nokia E71 using Profimail 3.14 registered:

If I have predictive text enabled AND am using a dark theme (i.e., one that uses white lettering on a dark background, such as TehkSeven's new Fissure theme), then I cannot easily compose or reply to emails in Profimail because the pop-up list of words ends up being black letters on a dark background.

Other programs (e.g., Microsoft for Exchange, IM) on the Nokia don't have this problem with dark themes, but I think this is because they adopt the white lettering on dark background configuration, whereas Profimail, regardless of the theme, gives you black lettering on a white background.

So is there anyway of providing a tweak that lets Profimail follow the convention of the theme you are using -- or, alternatively, when using predictive text, ensures that the lettering and background colors are visible against each other?

Thanks.

1. Rules
1.a phone profile condition
apply a rule only if the phone profile is/is not the given one (will allow
certain alert triggers to not ring at night)
I can possibly turn off some rules for holidays, but having to manually
switch them (for several mailboxes) every evening/morning is too much.
a profile check (if in General, ring for this sender, if at night don't) would solve that

1.b I just realize that rulez apply to all accounts equally. That means there should be a 'Account/Mailbox matches' condition so that a rule can be applied to certain accounts/INBOX(es)' only..

1.c more than one action per rule (set high-prio flag, play tone)

1.d alternatively, match on prio-flag (which could then be set in an earlier rule and trigger an alert in the later rule). Or does the fact that a prior rules matched (to set the flag) mean that the subsequent rules won't get executed? Then I'd think we'd need a 'continue/stop' for each rule

1.e Rule to check arbitrary headers (X-*)
contains/doesn't contain/regex
This will allow adding headers etc on the server (procmail, sieve etc)
so that the profimail rule can be used to determine how to handle that mail
on the phone.

2. Notifications

A separate notification sound for each account.
It's could be done by adding a rule that always matches as the last one for each account, but that's a kludge.

@Setjam: i requested sort of thesame (let profimail check the correct setting > mail tone instead of ringtone). This way such problems could be over but as you can read here LGC opinion is what counts, not yours. Still... this would solve your problem too. You could use a profile where only ringtone is set, without sms or mailtone.

-Huge ditto for this. Not having to choose between selecting a connection manually or having to predefine only two connections would be great.

-An improved attachment viewing interface would be great. The current one is extremely small and not great for dealing with many attachments in an email.

-Download message option directly under the Menu (Menu>Download) so that I don't have to navigate through sublevels just to download the rest of an email (currently Menu>Message>Download).

-The largest thing I want to see though is a general UI overhall for touch devices. A lot of the items are just too small for finger selection.

Adding "reply" to the hold-click for a message would be benefitial, since there is an empty slot in the bottom right corner.

I have N97. My list
1 ) set number of emails to download
2) Easy navigation from one email to other email client directly to inbox rather then stupid view of all folders to see everytime.
3) Current Profimail looks like a age old telnet email client loaded on DOS. Need a 100% visual design uplift..Currently all email and button looks like a big chaos and highly unreadable. ... (I can help here.)
4) View only unread emails or sort by read-unread.
5) Support for Exchange email
6) Call the sender if the sender is in your Address book
7) option to save email or reply when clicked on any email text appearing in the body of received email.
8) N97 homescreen widget. Better notification on homescreen.
9 ) Send and Receive done in background without showing a modal window. I mean, you cant read other email when you click update mail box.
10) Delete mails - hide them immediately and remove them from background. Its done in nokia email service.
11) searching emails like Windows Mobile email. The search happens on the email list view directly like searching contact list. It searches and highlight the words in subject, email or sender name.... This will be great feature.

Hi,

I am very happy to see that the new version can now show the e-mail headers. Thanks a lot!

A feature which would be also very appreciated: Our company provides our clients with secure communication paths to protect authenticity, privacy and integrity during the data exchange between them and us. Therefore, we have had set up X.509 certificates for S/MIME standard based encryption and signing. This industry standard solution is common in professional environments and supported by most modern mail clients without the need of installing and setting up any supplementary software like PGP. Also, everybody can get such certificates, signed by a commonly trusted certification authority, from thawte inc. without any costs.

Sometimes we receive S/MIME encrypted e-malis from our clients or want to singn e-mails we send to them.
It would be nice to have that feature integrated also in ProfiMail so that we can read, write and sign all e-mails in ProfiMail.

Best regards
T.

Getting mail from company Exchange server via corporate access APN, private range op IP addresses, doesn't work because ProfiMail can't check license.
It would be nice to have integrated feature that permits such connection

Instead of moving them straight away, I'd like to have the option of having emails you've selected to move into another folder be done, all at once, at a later time (as with the options to send emails now or later), instead of waiting for each individual email to be moved each time you select an email which takes a while as each email is done individually, logging into mailbox, moving email then disconnecting from email.

This would allow batch moving of emails from inbox into folders.

My list after using ProfiMail for two weeks as the only way to read emails:

1. Option to fast switching getting message bodies for emails (I want headers when on GSM and whole emails when on WiFi - but PM do not have to know when it is)[/list]

2. Option to fast switching "refresh INBOX only"

3. Option to fetch missing message bodies for mails present in folder (usable when I fetched headers by GSM and got into range of free wifi hotspot so can I fetch all emails for future reading)

4. Option to hide quoted text - it is annoying to scroll few screens just to read email.

Not sure if I get this: You can already now select several mails and move them at once.

Hello,
I use 3.15 on Nokia E55.
Both with using only only the "Internet" group as Access Point,
and using a "WLANs" group and GPRS/UMTS as Alternative Access Point
within ProfiMail, I miss "fall forward" functionality.
I mean: if fallback from WLAN to GPRS took place, there should be
a periodic check if WLAN access is available again and then switched
back.

Autostart. Because most ppl don't fell like installing 3d party software to make ProfiMail load on phone's start up. Hundreds of application for symbian have autostart feature. Is it so hard to add it finally?

Yes it's complicated, and it requires application certificated signing, which we try to avoid (to support frequent upgrades).

This is sad(
Another feature which some ppl would like to see is extended internet access settings. For ppl who travel a lot it costs extra money when they use GPRS internet while their journeys. For example I pay 0.05$ for 1 MB in my home network, but if I travel in Europe I have to pay 0.9$ for 1 MB and if I go to USA I have to pay incredible 2$ per 1 MB. So it would be great if ProfiMail asks before using internet connection in roaming or at least users could adjust this setting if they want ProfiMail to use internet connection while not in home network. Even Nokia Maps warns users before using internet connection in roaming about extra cost and asks if user wants to use internet connection or not.
