I think that the verification should be completely different.
It is totally unacceptable that your mail client cannot retreive mail when lonely cat servers are offline. Yesterday I wanted to order many of the lonelycat apps for my new Nokia E6. I bought LCG Jukebox, LCG Photobook, and X-plore, BUT I left out Profimail, just because I read this topic. And I will certainly not buy and use Profimail untill this issue has been resolved.
Protecting your software is okay, but please don't bother your paying customers with it.
