I noticed some file extensions are not yet recognized by x-plore. Since more file types and extensions will definitely crop up, is there a way to just indicate extensions and link them to apps? I noticed the only option given when tapping on unidentified extensions is a dropdown of text, image, video, audio.

I tried to open an .epub file and it won't fall under any of those categories. Besides i had 3 e book apps that could open that file unfortunately x plore did not recognize the extension and had no option to set the default app for the extension.

Hope you can fix this issue. More power to the android file explorer that has the potential to be the most feature packed yet easy to use! :)

Primary way of file recognizition (on Android) is mapping of file extension to mime type.
Android has build-in dozens of such mappings for most common file types. X-plore adds few more handful.

Searching web for epub shows that mime type is application/epub+zip. Adding it to X-plore solves the problem, so wait for next version.

Same will work for other extpensions not yet recognized, if some user posts such requirement.

Thanks for considering. After comparing with some of the other popular file managers like Astro I noticed also that the built in zip viewer of x-plore does not recognize zipped files with password protection. ZArchiver and some of the other archive apps can handle opening zipped files that are password protected. I hope x -plorer will also give the option for users to choose the default app for opening zipped files.

Kudos to the new update for x-plore for android! The update now recognizes more file extensions and prompts for the default app for files like.epub. It also has a much improved black theme no more royal blue top menu bar.

I noticed though that zipped files are still opened by x-plore's default zip viewer. Unfortunately the built in zip viewer does not handle password protected zipped files. In such cases it only opens a blank screen. Hope this can be fixed soon.

First I want to see this program is amazing. Great job on it. Its the best file manager available on android (on symbian too)

FLAC isn't recognized as well. X-plore audio player does support .FLAC, but you can't select a default application to open with FLAC.

Could there be a possibility like in the symbian version that you could manage you self in the settings for file associations? I want to set X-plore audio player as default for FLAC

1) FLAC will be recognized in 2.94+

2) There's no desire to make X-plore's own file associations, since Android has this functionality built-in, although it's not clear association of extension to app, rather it is complicated "default app for..." configuration, and rather difficult to manage.
